972,694. Tractor power-lift mechanisms. J. J. McCARTHY. Nov. 18, 1960 [Jan. 22, 1960], No. 39729/60. Heading A1P. A tractor having a three point linkage comprising arms 9 and 11, the latter being adjustable as to length, and lift arms 7, 7a connected to the lower arms 9 by lengthadjustable links 8, is provided with a bracket 12 secured to the tractor axle structure and provided with arms 14 and 15, a lever 17 being pivoted to arm 14, one end of the lever 17 being connected to a downwardly extending portion 13 of the bracket by a spring 21 and adjusting screw 22. The other end of the lever 17 is in the path of one of the lift arms (7) so as to exert an upward thrust thereon at a given part of its downward movement to an extent determined by the screw 22. An additional weight transfer is thereby effected to one wheel only of the tractor. The screw 22 rotates in a swivel nut 23 and the lever 17 abuts against a stop 24 against which it is held at a pressure determined by the screw 22. Alternative holes for the pivot 18 are provided in the lever 17 and bracket 14.
