971,057. Paper roll dispensers. A. MANETSCH, [trading as ALBIN MANETSCH & CO.]. April 30, 1963 [May 4, 1962; May 11, 1962; May 25, 1962; May 28, 1962; Jan 29, 1963; Feb. 19, 1963], No. 16939/63. Heading A4G. [Also in Division B4] A paper storage and dispensing device comprises a vertical casing 1, Fig. 1, containing a drum 19 on which the paper roll 220 is held by springs 190, with one stub spindle 18 received in a hole in a casing bracket 16 and the other stub spindle 17 received in a slot 150 closed by lever 20 on bracket 15 and screwed at 170 to receive a handwheel 21, and a lever 25 Figs. 1, 2 carrying a hollow straight edge 250 loaded by spring 26 on to the roll whereby paper 221 pulled off the roll may be cut by a blade 252 carried by rollers 254 within the straight edge when a handle 253 moves the blade upwards through slot 251. A roller 23 supports the roll of paper laterally. The straight edge may be a cutting edge along which the paper is torn. A stand 29, Fig. 5, may carry four dispensers for different widths of paper and a scale 27 for measuring the length required.
