Abstract

841,023. Feeding adhesive labels. MINNESOTA MINING & MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. Jan. 24, 1958 [Jan. 30, 1957], No. 3230/57. Class 94(1). A dispenser for self-adhesive labels carried on a paper web comprises a spindle 21 to support the web roll 22, guide means consisting of bars 26, 27 pressed together by springs 30 between which the web is turned back on itself so that each label 35 is automatically detached from the web, and rollers 10, 11 driven by an electric motor for drawing the web through the bars. The front roller 11 is mounted to allow horizontal movement and is normally pressed against the roller 10 by means of springs 15. The front bar 27 movable against spring pressure has a knob 32 for manipulation. A rheostat controls the speed of the motor (not shown) which turns the roller through nylon gears 8, 9.
