Abstract

1331999 Feeding webs RICOH KK 23 Dec 1970 [27 Dec 1969] 61238/70 Heading B8R [Also in Division G2] A sheet decurling device 9, Fig. 1, associated with a photo-electric reproduction apparatus (see Divisions G2-G3) comprises a pair of rollers 7, 8 urged towards each other, the roller 7 of larger diameter being made of elastomeric material such as foamed rubber and facing the curled side of the web which is forced into the periphery of the roller 7 by the roller 8 made of metal. The web 1 is unwound from a core 2 by intermittently driven rollers 3, 4 actuated in response to operation of a switch (not shown) by the reproduction apparatus. In another embodiment the roller 7 is replaced by a roller 53, Fig. 5, which is mounted on one end of a fulcrum lever 52, the other end of the lever supporting a sensing roller 54 in contact with the web periphery, whereby the lever under the influence of a spring 56 forces the roller 53 into contact with a roller 57 with a force which is inversely proportional to the web roll diameter.
