970,676. Conditioning paper and other webs. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIkEN A.B. April 10, 1962 [April 17,1961],No. 13884/62. Headings D1L and D2A. Paper or other hygroscopic webs are conditioned in an enclosed chamber within which a controlled, moisture-saturated air condition is maintained by passage over a series of cooled rolls 2 against which the webs are pressed by felt webs 4a, 4b. The chamber may have heat insulated walls, floor and ceiling and the moisture-saturated atmosphere within is maintained at a temperature adjusted to the requirements of the material under treatment. Partitions may divide the chamber into separate sections in which different conditions are maintained.
