Abstract

1537025 Drying apparatus WESTAIR DYNAMICS Ltd 12 Feb 1976 [12 Nov 1974] 49017/74 Heading F4G Drying apparatus in which timber or other goods are moved stepwise therethrough includes at least one heat insulated chamber having dehumidifying means of the refrigerating type for reducing the relative humidity of the air in the chamber and means for directing warmer air, as and when required, from the chamber to a preceding cooler chamber, or to a preceding cooler region outside the chamber, in order to prevent the temperature of the first-mentioned chamber exceeding a predetermined value. The timber drying apparatus shown comprises pre-heat region 13, chamber 11, chamber 12 and shelter 14 for receiving the dried timber. The required air control and transfer is achieved by dehumidifier units C fans B, 2, 3, 6 and outlets 4, 5.
