970,372. Laminates. J. FEENEY. Jan. 18, 1963 [Jan. 24, 1962], No. 2603/62. Heading B5N. Polyvinyl surfaced leather is made by laying two superposed sheets of P.V.C. on a flat surface, coating the upper sheet with an adhesive such as a polyvinyl or neoprene composition, turning the sheets over on to a leather skin or split and applying light pressure, coating the lower (now upper) P.V.C. sheet with adhesive, turning the assembly over on to a second skin or split, and lightly pressing, all operations being carried out on a flat surface such as a glass table. After drying, the two surfaced leather sheets are separated. The P.V.C. sheets may be coloured, printed, grained or furnished with a design, in which case they are superposed with their decorated faces inwards.
