Abstract

A sheet of glass is coated with a layer of an ethylene terephthalate-ethylene isophthalate copolyester in which the ethylene terephthalate units comprise 85 to 30% of the whole. The coating may be formed by spreading a solution of the copolyester on the surface and evaporating off the solvent, or by placing a layer of granules of the copolyester on the surface and heating and pressing to form a film. The copolyester may be white or coloured, e.g. by the addition of a dye or white or coloured pigment, e.g. bronze powder, aluminium powder. The coated sheet may be used to form a laminate (see Group VIII). Specification 766,290 is referred to.
