Abstract

969,672. Hooks. DEVELOPMENT, MANUFACTURE & TRADE CO. Ltd. April 8, 1963 [April 9, 1962], No. 13522/62. Heading F2H. [Also in Division B7] A hook arrangement comprises a base member 4, a hook 8, interengaging means (flanges 11) on the shank 9 of the hook and (curled edges 3) on the base member enabling the base member to be removably engaged on the shank by a sliding movement in a direction substantially parallel to the axis of the shank, a mousing piece 12 mounted on the shank (at 13) and pivotable between an open position (shown in full lines) and a closed position (in dotted lines), spring means 17 urging the mousing piece to its closed position, and means (flanges 19) on the mousing piece and (curled edges 3) on the base member interengageable in the open position of the mousing piece for retaining the latter in its open position in opposition to the force of the spring 17, the arrangement of the various interengaging means being such that sliding movement of the base member 4 relative to the hook to disengage these two parts results in the freeing of the mousing piece 12 prior to the separation of the hook and base member. The base member 4 is secured by screws 6 to a pole 7 forming a boat hook (see Division B7).
