969,651. Conveying apparatus. PILLSBURY CO. Dec. 4,1961, No. 43320/61. Heading B8A. Apparatus for transferring sheeted biscuit dough from a belt conveyer 11 to a belt conveyer 12 comprises a plurality of rolls 31-37 secured on shafts 22-28 which are rotatable in a frame 13. The shafts 22-28 are driven by chains and sprockets from a shaft 59 of the conveyer 11 and the rolls 31-37 have hemispherical free ends. In operation, a web of dough 67 passes from the belt 68 of the conveyer 11 on to the rolls 31-37, passing around the free ends of the rolls and then contacting the belt 69 of the conveyer 12 which carries the web away. Independent drive for the delivery conveyer and the transfer rolls may be provided and the angle between the two belt conveyers may be other than 90 degrees. The apparatus is suitable for transferring sheet materials in shorter lengths.
