Abstract

1513992 Conveying material between opposed endless belts. ALLIS-CHALMERS CANADA Ltd 29 March 1976 [2 April 1975] 12460/76 Heading B8A Material conveyed between opposed endless belts 10 and 12 is retained between the belts by the action of air pressure in plenum chambers 36, 38 respective to each belt, and rollers 46 which grip each pair of edges of the belts. The plenum chambers are sealed by flexible members 40. In a modification (Fig. 5, not shown), the two belts and the edge rollers are all enclosed in a single plenum chamber. The edge rollers 46 may be arranged in longitudinally staggered relation (Fig. 3, not shown). Endless gripper belts may be disposed between the rollers 46 and the edges of the conveyer belts (Fig. 4, not shown).
