An electro-acoustic transducer comprises a diaphragm 1 attached to a piezo-electric transducing bender element 3 which is attached only to the movable part of the diaphragm so that if the element oscillates, due to the application of an electric signal, the inertia of the element causes oscillation of the diaphragm, or alternatively oscillation of the diaphragm causes bending of the element due to its inertia to produce an electrical signal. The element is preferably a lead zirconate, lead titanate piezoelectric material in the form of a bar, the ends of which may be loaded, as at 5, with weights made e.g. of silicone rubber.
