Abstract

An electroacoustic transducer device comprises an acoustic compartment 13, and a pair of opposed electro- acoustic transducer surfaces 11, 12 adapted to acoustically drive, or be driven by, said acoustic compartment, whereby, in use, at any instant each of said surfaces 11, 12 is moving in a direction opposite to the direction of movement of the other said surface. The device may be an earphone and the arrangement seeks to reduce mechanical feedback and, where the transducers are of magnetic type, magnetic feedback. The transducers may be of moving armature type, as shown or may be dynamic, condenser, electret, ceramic or piezoelectric polymer transducers. <IMAGE>
