Abstract

A circular knit stocking is made of synthetic filaments wherein the welt is knit of multifilament yarn which has been drawn in the solid state to less than 2.2 times its original length as weltspun whilst the remainder of the stocking is knit of filaments which have been drawn to form 3 to 5 times their original length as welt-spun, at least the leg portion being knit of monofilament. The foot portion of the stocking may be knit of monofilament or multifilament yarns. The synthetic filaments are synthetic polyamides (e.g. nylon).
