Abstract

968,268. Valves. TELEHOIST Ltd. Sept. 14, 1961 [Sept. 15, 1960], No. 31739/60. Heading F2V. A selector valve comprises a body 1, Fig. 3, housing a rotary-cylindrical closure-member embodying two axially spaced but opposed parallel flat-surfaces defining ribs 13, 14, which latter are disposed perpendicularly to one another ; each rib, which has a through bore 15, 16, rotates in a chamber 17, 18, respectively. Common supply and return passages 27, 25, Figs. 6 and 9, branch into each chamber at 90 degree spacings whilst working passages 33, 34, spaced as shown, lead to a double-acting ram or to single-acting rams A, B in opposition. The part-cylindrical end-surfaces of the ribs are wide enough to seal any of the fluid passages opening into the chambers 17, 18; the closure member has three positions, two for ram extension or retraction and one in which the working passages 33, 34 are blocked and the supply and return passages 25, 27 are in communication.
