Abstract

1412393 Valves CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 29 April 1974 [30 April 1973] 18636/74 Heading F2V An axially slidable valve spool 18 having two spaced lands 20, 22 which in the neutral position block off flow from non-annular inlet port 16 to work ports 54, 56 includes an annular rib 30 disposed between lands 20, 22 such that when the spool is moved into a work position, shown, working fluid leaving port 16 is guided in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of motion of the spool. Thus the tendency for the spool to be urged to the open position by the fluid is reduced. Several axially spaced ribs 30 may be provided.
