Abstract

1382508 Valves COMMERCIAL SHEARING Inc 10 July 1972 [24 Sept 1971] 32120/72 Heading F2V A pressure-compensated directional control valve has a directional control valve 10 comprising a valve member 12 which selectively connects work ports 15, 16 with inlet ports 17, 18 or exhaust ports 13, 14 and a pressure compensating port 33 which communicates via grooves 22b, 23b in the valve member and grooves 30, 31, 32 in the body with the valve member chamber 19, 20 that is connected to inlet fluid pressure, and a pressure compensating valve 40 comprising a hollow valve member 50 which controls flow from a fluid pressure inlet 100 to exhaust 44 according to the pressure differential thereacross which pressure differential is determined by inlet fluid pressure acting in one direction and fluid pressure from compensating port 33 acting in the opposite direction together with spring 51 in the end chamber communicating with the compensating port 33 via passage 56 in the valve member. If a plurality of directional control valves are used with the pressure compensating valve the latter will compensate the control valve working at the highest pressure, fluid pressure in passage 36 acting with balls 24, 25 to cut off communication of the other valves with the compensating valve. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,293,550.
