Abstract

967,915. Castors. G. E. L. VAN CAMPO. May 13, 1963, No. 18810/63. Heading A4U. A castor comprises an annular peripheral rolling element 1 having an inwardly directed frusto-conical face 3 with a circular groove 4 and an inner element 5 comprising an annular portion 6 with a frusto-conical face 7 having a circular groove 8 and an arm 9 to receive a swivel pin 12, steel balls 18 or other rolling members being trapped in the annular space 17 formed by the grooves 4, 8 when the two elements are fitted together. The swivel pin has an enlarged head 15 which is secured to the furniture and a projection 11 in the socket engages a groove 14 in the pin. Element 1 may have a rubber tyre.
