[Also in Division B8] The inner surfaces of the upright member 20, Fig. 1, of a storage rack 10 protrude inwardly of the inner surfaces of longitudinal members 14, 16 to facilitate the use of a lifting sling within the rack. Lugs 32, Fig 2, attached to U-shaped metal lifting straps have hook portions 34 which are engaged by bolts 36 of a lifting dog 11, Fig. 1, and cam surfaces 38 which cooperate with tabs 40 to position the racks longitudinally during stacking. The lugs 32 are angled outwardly to guide the racks laterally during stacking. In a second embodiment lugs 42, Fig. 8, replace lugs 32 and cam surfaces 48 and 46, Fig. 9, guide the racks during stacking. The lifting dog engages slots 52. In a third embodiment lugs 55, Fig. 11, have hook portions 60 and cam portions 68, 56, Fig. 12. In a fourth embodiment lifting straps 118, Fig. 13 are provided with cam surfaces 128 which cooperate with tabs 130 and are angled outwardly as in the other embodiments. Cross braces 116 are provided.
