[Also in Division D1] A metallic mesh for reinforcing a deck comprises a series of strips a located in pairs back to back so that spaced V-shaped portions a<SP>1</SP> of one engage the straight parts of the other strip which connect its portions a<SP>1</SP>, the portions a<SP>1</SP> of alternate strips being aligned and the strips having a series of parallel rods b passing through holes therein. As shown, some rods pass through the apices of portions a<SP>1</SP> and the straight parts and the other rods pass through the junctions between portions a<SP>1</SP> and the straight parts. The mesh is filled with surfacing material c and may be laid on asphalt d or concrete, e.g. on a steel deck e. The mesh may be formed in rectangular units. Specification 817,015 is referred to.
