Abstract

967,566. Sponge mops. KLEEN-E-ZE BRUSH CO. Ltd. June 27, 1963 [July 2, 1962], No. 25322/61. Heading A4F. A sponge mop comprises upper and lower plates 1, 2, respectively, connected by an integral plastic hinge 3, the lower plate 2 supporting a sponge 11, and the upper plate 1 pivoting about the hinge 3 to squeeze out water from the underside of the sponge 11, on the release of channel 17 from about the handle 7, which is carried in a socket 6 on lower plate 2. Into plate 2 by snap engagement fits a support plate 10 (not shown) which carries the sponge 11 and a brush 12. In a modification the sponge 11 is attached to a brushless support plate by press studs The complete head may be moulded as a unit from poly-propylene or like plastics material.
