A waste water collector for one or several sinks is constructed in two parts 2, 3, by pressing or stamping them in sheet metal or moulding or shaping a plastic. The collector is fixed to drainage trap 8, and the cover clamped in position, by tie bolts 11 and 13 passing through strainers 10 and engaging cross-bar 12 and nut 14, respectively. A permanent seal may be formed around the edge of the cover by soldering, or by folding the rims of the parts together (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown). Alternatively, a grooved rubber sealing strip may be employed (Fig. 4, not shown) to form a releasable seal.
