The damping or inking roller train of a printing machine is provided with a messenger roller mounted on a pivoted lever, the movement of the roller being limited by two adjustable abutments which are arranged in a stationary manner on the machine frame and co-operate directly with the roller spindle. In the embodiment shown a messenger roller 4 mounted on a lever 5 is arranged to swing between a fountain roller 2 in a damping fountain 1 and a roller 3 and movement of the rocking lever is bounded at each side by abutments 6, 6<SP>1</SP> which contact a projecting pin 13 and are constituted by adjustable pins 9, 10 in a housing 8.
