Abstract

967,097. Air curtain apparatus. BAHCO A.B. June 20, 1962, No. 23742/62. Heading F4V. Apparatus for supplying an air curtain across the doorway 1 of an industrial workshop, the doorway preferably being provided with conventional sliding doors 2, 3, consists of a vertical column 4 mounted at one side of the doorway and spaced from the wall 1a so as to allow sliding movement of the half-door 3 between the column and the wall. The column corresponds in height to the height of the doorway and contains one or more fans 5 which discharge streams of air through a vertical emission slot or nozzle 6. The column 4 is pivotally mounted so that the direction of the airflow may be altered to suit prevailing wind conditions or the extent of opening of the doors 2, 3 and the starting and stopping of the fans 5 may be controlled by the opening and closing of the doors. The apparatus may be used in conjunction with any conventional door and, where used in conjunction with a sliding door, the column may be pivotally mounted on the door itself.
