966,761. Automatic circuit - breakers. BUSCH - JAEGER DURENER METALLWERKE A.G. Dec. 23, 1960 [Dec. 28, 1959], No. 44351/60. Heading H2B. An automatic circuit-breaker has a moulded body 1 formed with a chamber 1b housing the coil 6 of an electromagnetic tripping device, a chamber 1a to house electrical connections and a thermal tripping element 12, and a U-shaped arc chamber 1d enclosing the contacts 7, 8, the limbs of the chamber 1d extending along at least half of the length of the coil chamber 1d In the double-pole double-break arrangement shown, two arc chambers 1d are provided, one on each side of a central chamber 1e. Trip rods 11a, 13 extend from the armature 6c of the electromagnetic tripping device and from a bimetallic strip 12 through the central chamber 1e to latch members 5g, 5j of a " quick-break " mechanism 5 mounted on an insulating plate 3 above the body 1. The movable bridging contacts 8 are operated by plungers 9 extending from the mechanism 5. The contacts may be connected in series to provide a single pole fourbreak circuit-breaker, a neutral bar being provided in the chamber 1a Reference is also made to four-pole overload or earth-leakage circuit-breaker arrangements.
