938,415. Automatic circuit - breakers. BUSCH-JAEGER DUERENER METALLWERKE A.G. Aug. 5, 1960 [Aug. 7, 1959], No. 27149/60. Class 38 (5). A circuit-breaker comprises an insulating body 3 housing the contacts 17, 18, an electromagnetic earth-leakage tripping arrangement, a testing device, and a quick-break actuating mechanism which is mounted between supporting-plates 7, 8 attached to the body 3 above the contacts. In Figs. 3 and 5, the earth-leakage coil 4 is housed in a central cavity in the body 3 and operates an armature 6 to turn a latch member 10e to release latch levers 10c, 10d connected to a toggle 10a, 10b which extends between an operating member 9 and contactcarrying sliders 13. The sliders 13 are movable in recesses in the outer faces of the body 3 and carry bridging contacts 17b, 18b which cooperate with fixed contacts 17a, 18a housed in recesses on the outer faces of the body 3. The testing device comprises a changeover switch 21 and a resistor 21h, the switch being mounted between the plates 7, 8. In an alternative arrangement, Figs. 13 to 15 (not shown), the earth-leakage tripping arrangement is carried between the plates 7, 8 alongside the actuating mechanism and the contacts are housed in the central cavity of the body 3.
