Abstract
966,377. Electric heating resistances. TESLA, NARODNI PODNIK. Oct. 9, 1961 [Oct. 18, 1960], No. 36179/61. Heading H5H. A heating filament for a thermionic valve comprises a metal filament having an electrically insulating first coating of aluminium oxide, beryllium oxide, or a mixture thereof, and a second coating applied to the first coating including aluminium oxide, beryllium oxide, or a mixture thereof, and an oxide of titanium, zirconium, hafnium, thorium, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, or uranium, or mixtures thereof. The first coating is applied to the metal filament in a known manner and sintered, the second coating being subsequently applied by spraying, immersion, or electrophoresis to a thickness of approximately 30 microns. The second coating is then sintered in vacuo, hydrogen, or carbon monoxide gas.
