965, 732. Separating threads from warps. T. D. NOONE WOVEN PRODUCTS PROPRIETARY Ltd. Oct. 3,1962 [Oct. 5,1961], No. 37443/62. Heading D1M. A device for selecting and separating the end thread from a warp sheet held in a clamp 108 is mounted on a carriage which moves until a rod 50 contacts the warp. Brushes 82 then grip the end few threads and a plate 77 moves towards the warp and at the same time turns so that the end thread is released from lease cords 100, 101, the remainder of the threads being pushed away by lease sleeves 78 mounted on the plate 77. Gripper fingers 48, 49 then move forward vertically above a shaft 27a to grip the thread, and thereafter the shaft 27a is rotated through a right angle so that the gripper fingers move the thread to a position from which it may be drawn into a heald 107. This movement is sufficient to pull the thread from the clamp 108 and also to depress a trip 87 to stop the motor which through suitable gearing controls the entire device.
