Abstract

965,570. Forage harvesters. H. SPEISER, [trading as FIRMA W. SPEISER]. April 27, 1961 [May 4, 1960], No. 15253/61. Heading A1F. A forage harvester 2 is mounted at the side of a tracter 1 and is characterized by a draw arm 4 shaped to be secured to the front draw device 3 of the tractor. The draw arm 4 comprises two adjustable, telescopic tubes 9, 10 and a U-shaped member 8 having a plate 12 with a series of holes for receiving a pin attachable to the front of the tractor. The tube 9 together with U-shaped member 8 may be turned through 180 degrees and a member 18 can then be connected to the rear draw bar of the tractor for transport. Guides 21 on the tube 10 engage a tongue on the tube 9 to locate the tubes in position. The drive to the harvester is taken from the power-take-off of the tractor via a chain drive pivoted to the harvester but universally mounted on the tractor.
