A clock comprises a clock mechanism 11 mounted in a casing 10 and driving timing means which consist of an hour hand or disc 12 or this hand along with a minute hand or disc 13, mounted in a compartment of the casing, a cover 16 adapted to fit over the casing and conceal the said compartment and the timing means, the cover having a circular time scale T and carrying indicating means adapted to move round the scale, the indicating and the time means having co-operating magnetic elements 12m, 17 and 13m, 18, whereby as the timing means move, the indicating means move in correspondence round an identical angular path to provide a time indication with the scale. In the embodiment of Figs. 1 and 2, the hands carry counterweights 12W, 13W balancing the magnets 12m, 13m. The magnetic means 17, 18 co-operating therewith slide in annular tracks 16, 15 and carry decorative animals' figures as shown. In the embodiment of Fig. 4, the indicating duck 17 floats in a liquid contained in the cover and is oriented by the magnet 17b so that the beak follows the scale T. In another embodiment, the indicating means comprises members floating weightless in a totally enclosed body of liquid and the dial is angled to a viewing position of 45 degrees and carries an adjustable hemisphere of the earth whereby the time in different time belts may be read. The scale is visible through small lenses in the cover. In another embodiment, the device is made in the form of a sundial.
