963,923. Platform vehicles. MURFITT (BULK TRANSPORTERS) Ltd. Sept. 24, 1962 [June 24, 1961], No. 22923/61. Headings B7B and B7L. A road or rail vehicle has a vertically movable member 4, actuated by hydraulic rams, to keep the load in place. The rams may be arranged in the hollow corner members 3 and may be interconnected in pairs so that with one ram inverted with respect to the other, fluid displaced from the underside of one piston is transferred to the underside of the other piston to obtain a similar displacement and a parallel movement of the member 4. Fluid to actuate the rams is discharged from a hand or powerdriven pump and a relief valve in the circuit may limit the pressure exerted by the member 4 on the load and the member 4 may be retained in position by valves preventing fluid interchange between the rams.
