Abstract

963,916. Pliers; wrenches. D. CRISAFULLI. Dec. 4, 1961 [Dec. 22, 1960], No. 43215/61. Heading B4W. Pliers comprising a pair of crossed pivoted levers 1, 2 are provided with jaw members 5, 6 each having a blind bore 8 forming a recess to receive a projection 9 of an end member, the projection 9 having a reduced cross-sectional area with respect to the end defining an alignment shoulder 14 which engages with the upper edge 15 of the jaw member when mounted in the operative position and each jaw being recessed to form a cavity having dimensions corresponding to those of the projection. A screw 16 extending into each recess 8 makes contact engagement with the relative projection 9 to lock the projection in the recess. End members in the form of gripping members, wire cutters, screwdrivers and blocks having flat inner faces 22, Fig. 3 (not shown) and Fig. 4, adapted to grip nuts and bolts are described. A hooked retaining lever 23 pivoted on one of the blocks 20 is adapted to engage a catch projecting from the other block. The handles are locked in closed position by a stirrup 26.
