A spectacle frame comprises two cover caps 1 each arranged to cover at least partially the upper margin of a lens, and two seating pads 4 of pliable material housed in grooves 2 in the lower faces of said cover caps, each pad being adapted for attachment to a lens. The upper part of lens rims 3 may be held between the caps and the upper part of their respective pads each lens itself being held in a groove 8 in the pad. Each lens may be glued on to its pad and the pad on to the cap. The cover caps may be integral with or connected by a bridge or the lens rims 3 may be joined by a bridge Specification 940, 089 is referred to.
