Abstract

775,293. Spectacle frames. CHAPPELL, N. W. March' 25, 1954 [March 30, 1953], No. 8780/53. Class 97(1) In spectacles in which each lens is secured to an upper marginal portion of the frame by a relatively thin bands or thread extending around the lower parts of the lens, each band is threaded through a pad bar which is pressed thereby against the lens periphery. As shown the lens 4 is held to the frame by a thread 5, e.g. of nylon, engaging a groove 7 in the lens edge and being threaded through holes 11, 12 in a nose-engaging pad bar 9 so that the position of the latter may be readily adjusted around the periphery of the lens to suit different wearers. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 533,161.
