Abstract

963,781. Convertible vehicles. N. THEOBALD. March 1, 1963 [Feb. 13, 1962], No. 5426/62. Heading B7B. A motor vehicle 16 is provided with guides 17 to accommodate a threaded rod 10 carried by an open-fronted trailer 1 which can be telescoped by the engagement of the rod 10 with the nut 12 secured to the vehicle. A floor 21 is also provided with a nut to engage the rod 10 and in the position shown a reduced plain part of the rod 10 allows the trailer to be disconnected from the vehicle 16 without moving the floor whilst rotation of the rod 10 in the opposite direction will telescope the fixed floor of the trailer under the floor 21 during telescoping of the vehicle and trailer. The vehicle 16 may be provided with a bunk 27 to suit the shape of a boat 30 and the trailer may engage the boat keel to form a rigid structure.
