Abstract

963,314. Floor polishers and cleaners. SUNBEAM CORPORATION. July 19, 1962 [Oct. 13, 1961], No. 27871/62. Heading A4F. A floor polisher and cleaner comprises an electric motor 38 with a tubular stationary shaft 62 on which a removable brush 24 is rotatably mounted and drivingly connected to the electric motor, and an attachment 98 for use in rug cleaning for supporting the cleaner so that the brush is at a predetermined height above the rug. The attachment 98 consists of a circular plate 99 fixed by a supporting plate 100 to the end of a rod-like member 101 which is slidably mounted inside shaft 62. Means for adjusting the height at which attachment 98 supports brush 24 from the rug is provided by an adjustment ring 106 (Fig. 7), mounted on shaft 101, with a plurality of recesses of four different depths for receiving pins 102 fixed to plate 100. In order to change the height the operator raises disc 106 clear of pins 102 and rotates it to align the correct recesses with the pins.
