The Specification claims a modification to the five-way connecting-piece claimed in the parent Specification, in which the non-return valve, which is similar in principle to that in the former Specification, comprises a unitary structure adapted to be connected to the body 1 of the connecting-piece. The insert body 3 is bored internally at 4 and screwed externally at 5 for connection to the body 1. Within the insert 3 is a white-metal seating 6 for the ball 7. The cylindrical wall of each insert has grooves 8 extending longitudinally to form gas ducts past the ball 7. A retaining pin 11 prevents the ball from leaving the insert. The bores in the body 1 are closed with plugs 12 over washers 13.
