Abstract
962,804. Magnetic amplifiers. DE HAVILLAND AIRCRAFT CO. Ltd. Sept. 22, 1961 [Sept. 22, 1960], No. 32529/60. Heading H3B. In a magnetic amplifier having two control windings, a common control signal is fed to each winding through a rectifier and capacitor respectively to obtain an output signal responsive to rate of change of input signal with an input signal of one polarity and an output signal responsive to input signal with phase change with an input signal of opposite polarity. The rectifier 70 and capacitor 74 are shown connecting two push-pull stages in cascade and feeding series-connected windings 40, 54 and 42, 56 respectively. Both stages are provided with bias and feedback windings, and the output of the second stage includes a rectifier 80 to block the output signal if the change is in a permissible direction. The invention is applied to control the fuel supply to an engine in accordance with its temperature. The direction of rectifier 70 may be reversed. Specification 962,801 is referred to.
