Abstract

961,663. Loose-leaf binders. C. CAKEBREAD Ltd. May 30, 1961 [June 3, 1960], No. 19830/60. Heading B6E. A loose-leaf binder comprises a plurality of co-operating pairs of elements 4 of resilient metal or plastic material, rotatably mounted on a spindle 5 and provided with studs 17 and recesses 16 adapted to engage recesses and studs on adjacent elements, whereby the elements are interlocked, so that an opening or closing force applied to one pair of elements is transmitted to all the other elements in the binder. The upper ends of each pair of elements are formed with interengaging parts such as a recess 14 and spigot 15. The elements are retained on the spindle by means of screwthreaded nuts or by a stop engaging the spindle in a push-fit. The stop may be slidable on the spindle into engagement with the end elements to maintain the elements in the closed position. The elements are mounted in a cover 1 having stub portions, the " split rings " 8 passing through apertures in the stubs.
