[Also in Division H2] A variable ratio transformer arrangement comprises a plurality of transformers connected in cascade, each transformer having a fixed winding and a tapped winding, the ends of the fixed winding of one transformer being connected to the ends of the tapped winding of the following transformer, single pole switching means being provided to select a desired number of sections of the tapped winding of each transformer and to connect them to one end of the fixed winding of the same transformer. Fig. 3 shows the tapped windings having ten taps to provide a decade system whilst Fig. 4 shows the tapped winding centre tapped to provide a binary system, the singlepole switch in this instance being a changeover switch. In another embodiment each transformer may have a plurality of windings and a plurality of change-over switches may be associated therewith.
