Abstract

The transformer comprises a core having first and second regions a primary winding (5, 6, 7) on the first region and a second primary winding (8) on the second region, and a secondary winding (4) concentrically wound on the second primary winding. The two primary windings have multiple tappings respectively connected to contacts of at least a multiple switch and this switch disconnects groups of turns of the first primary winding. The record primary winding can be connected to the first in series or in opposition, either totally or partially. A complementary switch may disconnect turns of the first primary winding lower than the number disconnected by the first switch.
