[Also in Division H2] A metallically sheathed electrical conductor used in the stator winding of a dynano-electric machine consists of a “ inch diameter copper core which is surrounded by compacted alumina or preferably magnesia powder (0.020 to 0.040 inch thick) and is enclosed in a nickel tube having a wall thickness of 0.015 inch. In a modification the copper core may be of hollow rectangular section and enclosed in a rectangular section stainless steel sheath; the hollow core having gaseous coolant flowing in it.
