Abstract
960,517. Filter-presses. CHRISTOFFERS MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. June 6, 1962, No. 21840/62. Heading BID. A pressure filter comprises alternately succeeding and relatively separable filter plates 6 and filter frames, the latter forming groups 11, 12 which are respectively supported and suspended in alternate pairs 11a, 11b and 12a, 12b in laterally arranged traverses 19, 20, separated from the filter plates and slidable independently of each other between the filter plates by respective spindle nuts 18 on spindles 17 rotated axially by bevel gears 16 operated by respective gear motors 13a, 13b. Between the two filter frames of each pair, a resilient or displaceable scraper 29 is provided, below the filter plate disposed between the frames, and serves to expel the filter cake from the frames as they are slid out. Brushes or scrapers 30 are provided below each filter plate for automatic cleaning of the sealing surfaces of the filter frames when they are slid in. A brush or scraper 31 is combined with each filter frame for automatic cleaning of filter cloths 34 of filter plates as the filter frames are slid out and in. Adjustable stops 33 are provided for achieving a uniform distance between the filter plates and filter frames, when the filter is opened by withdrawal of a pressure plate 32 before a group of the filter frames is slid out. Filtrate is collected via cocks 22 into the outer part of a collecting channel 23 and can be conveyed further via an effluent socket 24. When the filtrate runs clouded out of a filter plate it can be shut off by closing the cock 22, or the filtrate is conveyed, by reversing a baffle 25, to an inner portion of the collecting channel 23 which can be evacuated via a connection 28. Collecting plates 26 and 27, held by spring pressure, are swung downwardly when the filter frames 11 are slid out.
