In a modification of the hose pipe coupling of the parent Specification the ring which is embedded in the end of the pipe is provided with two annular horns 28, 29 one being of greater diameter than the other. The horn of great e diameter is positioned adjacent the end of the hose. The ring may be of metal or a synthetic resinous material.
