Relates to a haymaking machine of the type having a rotary reel formed by discs 23, 24 interconnected by oblique tine-bars 20 and wherein the frame comprises beams 8, 9 parallel to the tine-bars & together supporting a series of rods 28, 29 which extend around the surface of revolution swept out by the tine-bars. According to the invention, the tine-bars move through a closed path of a diameter between 25 and 65 centimetres. The rods 28, 29 adjacent to the beam 9 are provided with guiding-rods 31 which extend upwardly beyond the beam, the guides 31 being located in vertical planes which extend rearwardly from their corresponding rod. The machine is mounted on three castor-wheel assemblies 86, 87, 88 and is attached to a towing tractor by a pair of draught links 64, 65, at least one of which (Fig. 7) is telescopic and incorporates a compression spring 71 surrounding a rod 68 which is movable, against the spring, within a sleeve 69. The rear end of each link is universally jointed at 75, 77 to a lug 78 on a cross member 5 of the implement frame. The frame includes a pivoted parallelogram 6, 8, 9, 10 with vertical pivot-pins 11, 12, 13, 14 at its apices, one apex incorporating a locking sector 15 whereby the obliquity of the frame may be varied. The reel is driven from the tractor through a chain-transmission 45, 46 (Fig. 4) in a casing 48 which can be swung over to either side of the implement frame so that the implement may occupy different positions relatively to the tractor. Each castor-wheel assembly such as 88 (Fig. 3) is a parallelogram-linkwork including a vertical standard 100 secured to a frame-member 10, and a bearing 101 for the vertical spindle 102 of the castor-wheel 4 connected to the standard by pivoted parallel links 103, 104. All the assemblies are connected by rods 105, 107, 110 to a bell-crank 106 so that vertical adjustment of the linkwork of the assembly 87 by means of a crank 117 (Fig. 4) will simultaneously adjust the other assemblies.
