Abstract
958,269. Moulding-machines. BUDERUS'SCHE EISENWERKE. Jan. 2, 1961 [Jan. 7, 1960], No. 77/61. Heading B3F. A mould press is mounted above a pattern carrier 2 rotating at constant speed, and may be coupled automatically thereto when a filled flask 26 on pattern plate 7 arrives beneath it, so that during the pressing operation the press moves synchronously with the carrier and is subsequently disconnected and returned automatically to its starting position. In one embodiment, Fig; 1, the press comprises a press cylinder 15 and is mounted on an arm 8 and lowered into contact with the flask by a cylinder 21, hooked ends 25 of pivoted arms 24 engaging under studs 23 on the flask. The arm is caused to rotate with the table by engagement with a retractable stop 13 until pressing is complete, the arms 24 being then disengaged by a slight lowering of the press and the stop 13 being retracted, so that the arm 8 returns e.g. under the action of springs or weighted chains. In a modification, Fig. 3, the press device is mounted at a constant height and arms 28 pass under the studs with slight clearance which is taken up when the pressing operation commences. The press may comprise a pneumatically operated pressing bag.
