Abstract
957,799. Unloading storage chambers from below. HIGHTOWN MALTING CO. Ltd. Oct. 17, 1960 [Oct. 15, 1959], No. 34914/59. Addition to 873,641. Heading B8E. Material is directed to conveyers 14 (Fig. 1) at the bottom of a storage bin B by raising sections 6 of the floor to inclined positions. In the form shown, two sections 6 are hinged centrally together and are raised by rollers on the ends of bell-cranks 7 turned about their shafts 8 by an hydraulic ram 9, 10. This causes material in the bin to fall on to endless push-plate conveyers 14 which can be protected from the material by hinged plates 12. The hinge between the section 6 is protected by a flap 6a. Several bins B can be arranged as shown in plan in Fig. 2 to deliver to conveyers C1 which in turn deliver to endless belt conveyers C2 discharging through a common outlet D. In the alternative arrangement of Fig. 4 the conveyers C1 between adjacent bins B deliver to a central conveyer C2 delivering to a common outlet D. In small installations the conveyers 14 of Fig. 1 may be driven manually. Screw jacks may replace the rams 9, 10. Bins on two or more superposed floors may discharge directly down shoots to conveyers provided on the bottom floor only.
