956,050. Lubricating. E. CHRISTIANSEN. Sept. 22, 1961 [May 30, 1961], No. 33947/61. Heading F2A. In an electric motor of the type used in a centrifugal pump having the rotor 17 mounted in a closed chamber 18 containing lubricating liquid, a flexible vane is provided on the rotor for conveying lubricant to the nearest rotor shaft bearing. As described, the vane 24 is at least partially immersed in the lubricant contained in the chamber 18, and rotates with the shaft to direct a stream of lubricant on to the bearing 21. The vane is attached to the rotor at its end remote from the bearing and bends rearwards when the shaft rotates so as to direct the lubricant on to the bearing 21 irrespective of the direction of rotation.
