Abstract
955,924. Spray producers. HUNG-TONG LEE. Sept 4, 1962, No. 33837/62. Heading B2F. A liquid sprayer comprises a container 1 for the liquid to be sprayed, a tubular cylinder 5 extending into the container, a tubular plunger 10 slidably mounted in the cylinder, a sealing member 11 attached to the plunger and engaging the inner wall of the cylinder, a spray head 18 on the outer end of the plunger, a unidirectional valve in the plunger and a unidirectional valve in the inner end of the cylinder. The valve in the plunger comprises a ball 14 in the sealing member 11, which is a rubber cap fitting over the end of the plunger and having a hole 13 which can be covered by the ball, and the valve is thus adapted to allow the flow of liquid from the cylinder 5 through the plunger to the spray head 18. The valve at the end of the cylinder comprises a ball 7 and an apertured seating 8 and is adapted to allow the flow of liquid from the container 1 into the cylinder 5. The outer portion of the plunger tube is looped at 16 and the finger hole thus provided facilitates reciprocation of the plunger. On outward movement of the plunger the ball 14 closes on its seating and the cap 11 therefore acts as a piston and draws liquid from the container into the cylinder 5 through the valve 7, 8. On the return stroke the ball 7 closes its aperture and the liquid in the cylinder is forced through the member 11, and through the plunger 5 and out through the nozzle in the spray head 18.
