Abstract
955,776. Cooling cement clinkers &c. FULLER CO. Aug. 21, 1962 [Aug. 22, 1961], No. 32142/62. Heading F4B. In a reciprocating grate cooler for cement clinker of the type disclosed in Specification 842,507, the grate assembly 2 has alternate rows of fixed and movable grate bars, the fixed bars being secured to the wall of a casing which includes a fixed frame 3, the movable bars being attached to a frame 1 which is reciprocated by the arm 4, and bearings between the frames 1 and 3 comprise ball members 9 engaging tracks 5 and 6 on each frame. Tracks 5 and 6 are inclined in the direction of motion, tracks 6 being disposed on rods 13 allowing transverse motion of these tracks. The upper tracks 5 may be bolted to the frame 1 as shown at 10 and 11 or may be mounted in a similar manner to tracks 6. A stop-member limits downward travel of each ball 9. Air or gas may be directed upwardly through the grate assembly.
